Bases Loaded
Review from the Net

Ok, this game has gotten blasted all over. But here's my much more
fair take on the game.

The gameplay is about average. It's certainly not the best baseball
game, but it's not horrible either. It's got everything you'd expect,
but nothing new.
The game has a few missing elements. The catcher does not throw the
ball back to the pitcher, you can't swing until the pitcher throws,
manual errors, etc.
It doesn't have a lot of options either. It would be nice to have a
home run derby or defense practice, but alas, it does not.
So what's the biggest problem? The graphics. They aren't
spectacular, and they aren't average for a 32 bit game. They are at SNES
or Genesis quality. The intro, the pictures of the players and the
movies within the game are good, but the field view is horrible. The
batter/pitcher view isn't that bad though, and is average 32bit quality.
Unfortunately, that's only half of the game.
The game includes 8 staduims, 7 major league stadiums and one weird
Jeleco stadium. More than World Series Baseball, but not half as
detailed as they should be. They all look identical except for the
outfield walls.

GRAPHICS - 4
*The batter/pitcher view is the only thing that keeps this from being a
1

SOUND - 7
*The voice is clear
*The music is good
*The cheers sound like they were done on a NES

GAMEPLAY - 7.5
*Good, decent baseball gameplay, nothing new though. One note:
the stats that are used all came from the 1994 season, not the
1995 season. The game play is affected somewhat by that. Knowing for
instance that Randy Johnson didn't have a great year control wise in 1994
but did have one in 1995 makes a difference.

OVERALL - 7 if you like baseball, 6 if you don't
*If you love baseball, and don't have a Saturn, get this one. If you
only like it, you might be better off waiting for some of the other
games that will be released starting in Feburary
