Bravo Air Race
Review from the Net

Title: Bravo Air Race
Genre: Racing/flying
Publisher: Xing/TH*Q
Developer: Metro

Although Bravo Air Race is the first ever plane racing game, it's not
very different from other racing games. Like all other racers, you race
around a course for a number of times and the first one cross
the finish line wins. But now in addition to passing on the left and right,
it's also possible passing above or below other people racing against you.

The most irritating thing in the game is that you'll always return to
the main screen after each race. Wait for the announcer Then you need to select
among 1 Player, 2 Players with horizontal split-screen, or the Time Attack
mode, AGAIN. After that, you'll ask to select one of the four courses (not
including hidden ones, IF any), and then a plane. The game offer quite a
number of planes, and I believe those jet fighter I race against will be
playable sooner or later.

Graphic (7.5)
Both the visual and audio in Bravo Race is average.
Music/Sound (6.8)
Pop-ups can be found easily on every course, the sensation of speed is not as
good as Rage Racer of Wipeout XL, and sometime bad use of colors. But most of
the planes look pretty good, and there are no slowdowns. The announcer in
Bravo Race is very annoying. And he also calls the player an 'idiot',
just to make you feel good for buying the game. The music are OK, and
won't catch much your attention. The sound effects in this game are very
cheesy. You can hardly hear the engine noises; gee, I thought Jet Fighters
make pretty loud noises.

Gameplay (8.8) The gameplay is very simple but kinda fun. The control is easy
and responsive. There are no such thing power slides (duh!), all you need to
do is to avoid crashing. There are speed-ups, it's a sphere with the letter
'S' on it and it's difficult to get. To prevent planes flying out of the
course, or cheating, the races are, for most of the time, between thing,
buildings, snowy mountains, whatever. And there are the invisible 'ceilings'
and 'walls'. There are also a line of blue transparent spheres on every
course, so the player won't 'get lost'.

Bravo Air Race is a fun racing game, but with so many PSX racers out
there, it won't make it anywhere near the top of the list.

OVERALL -- 7.4 (just O.K.)
