Destruction Derby
Review from the Net
Hey, I just wanted to say that I just spent 5 hours with my bud his wife and my wife playing Destruction Derby linked. It's awesome. Tag is by far the best I mean to have all the cars chasing after you until you manage to hit your friend, then start running away and watch the cars all slam into him :) The 2 player Championship was also great. But I like all the extra features for Derby when the games linked. Like Tag (Awesome), Seek and Destroy was also great. Duel was hard to hit eachother all you really do is spin in circles. Man this is the BEST game ever made. Thank you reflections. The 1 player game is also great. But, MAN, Link up link up link up link up link up. That's where the game shines it's true radiance of beauty. Also didn't notice any reduce in speed from the 1 player game, compared to the link up. No problems. Bring on more link games. I also bought DOOM. But my friend hasn't bought it yet. So I can't say how Deathmatch is. But the game is smooth. I'm sure it blows away playing over the modem. I love my Playstation.... Hanoi... ======== I just finished playing Destruction Derby linked... WOW!!! This game is intense. Trying to destroy the computer opponents plus your friend is a lot of fun especially while trying to place in the top of the field. For those who badmouthed this game early on, I would suggest taking another lokk at it. The only unfortunate part of DD in linked mode is that there seems to be more slowdown. I can only guess that in order to maintain timing, a slowdown on one machine would cause one on the other. I would have preferred a loss in the detail to the slowdown, but it mostly isn't that bad. The multi-player optionb is also interesting linked up since you can have up to 40 people enter and race against each other plus the resdt of the field. Destruction Derby has to be one of the best games out for the PSX. With a little clean up on the slowdown, it would be near perfect.
