Die Hard Trilogy
PlayStation Review from the Net

I didn't expect very much from this one seeing as it's three games in
one. That usually means lack of quality and depth, i.e. lack of fun in
each game. But this is different. Each game by itself is superior to
about 90% of the titles available on Playstation now (note: this
probably says more about the quality of the game pool than the quality
of this game, but it is certainly a step above regardless).
The great thing about these three games is that they all execute a
specific premise (namely killing bad guys and seeing lots of blood
and explosions while staying alive), but each in it's own unique way.
The only way to describe the first game (Die Hard) is that it's
like Doom, but in the third person like resident evil. It requires
skill to kill everyone, but not that much skill and it is intensely fun-
just like Doom. A minor note about this one- after you turn away from a
dead body, it disappears- you can't go back and look at the carnage
you've created. Darn.
The thing that impresses me most about the second game (Die
Harder) is the level of detail in the backgrounds and bad guys. When
you kill them, they writhe on the ground and you can shoot them some
more if you'd like to watch the body bounce around. As for the
backgrounds, ANYTHING can be shot. Either you will see bullet holes, or
something will happen- A monitor will explode, a ceiling tile will
fall- very good for crushing bad guys- and just about everything will
react in some way to your gun fire. It helps to absorb the player in
the game more intensely (at least for me, anyway).
The third game (Die Hard- W.A.V.) can best be described as exactly
what I wanted Twisted Metal to be. I know that many people like this
game a lot, but the graphics weren't particularly stunning- and control
was plain awkward- it was still fun though. In DHWAV you seek out bombs
and run things over in the process. There is a time limit and a little
compass that tells you where to go. The best part is the "bomb car" that
you must chase down and hit several times to detonate the bomb
voluntarily before it detonates itself. The reason why this is so cool
is because it makes you feel like your in a car chase- just like in the
movies ;)

So what exactly does this all mean. It means that with three quality
games, you're bound to find at least one you like, but most importantly,
if you like all three than you will simply never get bored, because when
you get fed up or frustrated with one, you play another and so on until
you get hungry or have to go to the bathroom or have to actually do
something with your pathetic life. Once you've cycled through the three
games, you'll be ready to come back to the first (At least this is how
it is for me).

I'm really not one for hyping games up- I get bored or annoyed with most
of the non-sports games quite quickly. But this game is very simply pure
unadulterated fun. I hope that everyone else who has played it agrees.
This game is the bomb (pun intended- insert laugh here).
