Doom
Review from the Net
About a year ago, Id Software's Doom appeared on the Atari Jaguar. I
rejoiced, because I don't have an IBM PC/compatible computer and I could
finally play Doom at home! And it was great, too! Of course, I snapped it
up, and I enjoyed it ever since.
Well, a few days ago, it happened again. Williams has released Doom for
the Sony PlayStation. New machine, new Doom. After hearing about all of
the new features, I decided to add this version to my collection.
So how does it stack up?
Let me tell you, I think Doom for the Jaguar is one of the top 10 games
that you could get for any console right now. Doom for the PlayStation is
MUCH BETTER!
Oh yes, people, once again, I'm pumping shotgun loads into demons. But
this time, there's all new music, new sound effects, and some really
great colored lighting effects! The combination makes for a terrific
sense of atmosphere. You've never seen Doom like this!
Also, with levels from both Ultimate Doom and Doom II, you'll be playing
this one for a long time. For multiplayer gaming, you can also link two
machines for Cooperative or Deathmatch play.
Even if you've already played Doom up all four walls, do yourself a favor
and buy the Custom PlayStation Edition of Doom! It's the best PlayStation
game yet!
