Gunners Heaven
Review from the Net
Story and Originality: none...from what I hear. This is a ripoff of some sega game, ne? Graphics: Great...really colorful, explosions look spectacular, some slowdown when things get really busy. One of my friends mentioned this could probably be done on the SNES, for the exception of the color and busy-ness of the sprites. Control: Excellent...You can shoot, jump, hang on platforms, grab platforms with with the grappling wire and slide. Your gun has 4 different settings (standard, heat seeker, bouncy ball things, flame thrower) which can be powered up and you use a button to alternate between them. Difficulty: No choice of difficulty and the one setting they have is pretty damn hard....but not in a "unfair" way. If you make use of the different weapons and the grappling wire and sliding you can get by pretty good....however I only made it to the end of level 2, so far. But the six bosses I've encountered have been predictable, for the exception of the end level boss for Level 2, who's completely predictable until she goes down to 2999 and goes ballistic, well not really...I just don't know how to avoid her blasts (any suggestions? someone who has this game). Also there is no save feature, so if you stick the game in again you have to start from the beginning. Sound: Okay....the voices are kinda weak. Standard "Yatta!" and so forth. Sound effects are a little dull too. There are two choices of music, both are nothing to write home about but it does change...so your not stuck with the same song. Is it worth it?: Depends if you have the extra money. If your a baka, who bought an import Japanese PlayStation and can only buy one game in the next 5 months, you might want to pass. I don't think it's a must have, but it's fun nontheless. My only real complaint on this game is in sound dept. otherwise it's a great addition to my collection. It's only one player, so when your friends stop by this will most likely not be what you'd stick in..maybe Tekken or something. - Jean
