Kileak: The DNA Imperative
Review from the Net

Kileak the Blood is basically another 3D dungeon shooter in the vein of
Doom and Wolfenstein. IMO, the game system leaves somewhat to be
desired as you often end up having to shoot it out in narrow corridors
without any cover or blocking move. I'm not sure how many levels there
are, but have managed to get to 7th floor so far, and believe I'm
getting close to the end.
Where it really shines is in the graphics, music and sounds. The
superbly texture mapped dungeon sequences are interspersed with
eye-popping CG animations that look fantastic. These are inserted in
such a way that they really boost the heavy, doom-laden atmosphere
without being an annoyance. The sounds are pretty intense and loud too.
The 'enemy approaching' sonar is nerve jangling. The messgae 'you're
almost out of energy' is also pretty scary as it's repeated ad
infinitum until you manage to find a power charge box. (When you run
out of power, your armored mech suit freezes and you die!) The gun fire
and explosion sounds are also pretty decent. One thing I particularly
liked was that by firing your gun at a wall makes the explosion sound
right away, while shooting it down a long corridor makes the explosion
sound muffled and distant, so you can use it to gauge distance.
The story is pretty decent, about a UN group of mobile mechs sent out
to investigate an Antarctic base where a diabolical plot to rain mutant
DNA strains is underway.
Like I said, not all that heavy on the actual gameplay aspect, but a
big winner in terms of suspenseful atmosphere. I bought it and like it
lots. At the very least, it's a cool game to show off.
