OVERALL
There is something insanely fun about strapping into a giant Mech and
then picking apart tons of other Mechs. The ability to zoom in and
then shoot off various parts of the enemy
is downright amazing and adds to the strategy. Those put off by the
word ARCADE don't be, there still ton's of strategy to be had here.
Those who are attracted by the word ARCADE be careful, this is far
from run and shoot everything that moves. It takes quite a while to
get the hang of the game but
when you do it's quite rewarding. The levels are sometimes very
PLAINand can get repetitive. the game concentrates on
combat rather than scenery, giving you just enough to hide behing in
some levels. There are exceptions and the city/urban and the more
mountiainous levels are great. Yet i can't help but wish for a
level..say..in a large canyon. A sort of Star Wars bomb run rip-off.
My other gripe is..for some reason i don't find the Campaign mode as
involving as other games with the feature...such as space hulk. It
just feels like levels that have to be unlocked in order.

An excellent game with room for improvement in both level design and
campaign mode.

LAST WORD
get this one if piloting a Mech appeals...it conveys this feeling
superbly!
