Novastorm
Review from the Net
I picked up Novastorm today at Electronics Boutique. I was a big fan of the 3DO version, which was labeled "shooter of the year" for 1994 according to Die Hard Gamefan. The Playstation version is the best version of Novastorm out anywhere. The game has been almost completely redesigned. New Additions to PSX version: Full screen Gameplay Crystal Clear FMV/backgrounds Better Control of Scavanger X Improved Techno/Rave Soundtrack More Bosses (much bigger and badder, very clear also) Better weapons Fully interactive (you go over mountains and bob over/under scenery Awesome Full Screen Cinemas throughout game Detail enemies, and lots of them Overall, this is a classic sci-fi shooter that is at least worth a rental. The game is fun! I know some people just don't like FMV shooters but PSX Novastorm takes the genre to a whole new level. Anyway, in a horizontal shooter the backgrounds are completely uninteractive, but people love horizontal shooters. Novastorm has your ship going "into" the scenery: you can hit mountains, swerve under and over obstacles and more. This is my favorite shooter for 1995. Novastorm: PSX Graphics 9 Music 9 Control 8 (no option to flip controls) Gameplay 7 Challenge 9 Overall this game scores 84%. Pick it up! It's a highly underrated shooter.
