Resident Evil
Review from the Net

This is a very brief review of "BIOHAZARD" the 3D Horror
game from Capcom that has just been released here in Hong
Kong. I have only played the game briefly, but it made such an
impression I thought I`d better get these first impressions off
you you asap!
Quite simply this is the most impressive game I have played, it
is like you are actually taking part in a Lucio Fulci/Romeri
Zombie Movie with a bit of Raimis Evil Dead thrown in for good
measure. play it at night with the lights turned off and the game
is genuinely frightening, scared the crap out of my girlfriend
who was watching, anyway :-)
The intro is excellent, a Black & White Gory FMV with
reasonable acting for a change sets the tone, which then changes
to the nice 3D rendered characters that are controlled by the
player. like I said at the beginning I have only played for a
short while but initial impressions are as follows:

Graphics: 9.5
Beautifully detailed, excellent camera angles, and very gory.
I should imagine, given the amount of gore that the game would be
adults only in U.K. and the U.S. or they would change the colour
of the blood to green or something (like Mortal Kombat 1 on the
Super Famicom the Playstations 3D abilities are utilised really
well in this game.

Sounds: 9.5
Movie quality Horror stuff, turn it up & it will freak you
out, When something crashes through the window it`ll be brown
trouser time for sure! the FX are good to, especially the weapons
sounds. all the dialogue is in English with Subtitles too.

Playability: 9.0
Excellent movement of the characters. Right hand shoulder button
to draw the gun & it`s Blam! Blam! great fun!

Over all: 9.5
My only slight misgiving is long term playability as each
time you play the creatures are in the same places, the game
would be virtually perfect if a random element could have been
incorporated. Sneaking down the corridor the first time you play
not knowing what is round the corner is really scary, but after a
few plays the game becomes merely great fun trying to get a bit
further.
So to sum up, get this game if you can!
                                                            Yex
