Return Fire
Review from the Net

On the 9th day god made this game! This game is awesome on the psx and
the graphics are a big improvement on the psx compared to the 3do! Well
first lets talk about the game! 200+ maps (not all 2 player) 4 different
weapons (hummer, tank, armoured car, and helicopter) and much more!

The thing that really caught me with this game was the music! Most classical
but it fits the mood of the game so well and changes as different things
go on as the game (my personal favorite is flight of the valkeries : the
music from apocalypse now whe you start to use the helicopters). The
opening really gets ya ready for the game (had it playing on some
speakers the house was rocking). I'd call this game an action war strat
as far as category goes.

Now the purpose of this game is to get the enemy flag and
take it back to your base (the game changes alot 2 players)
sound simple right? no. The hummer is the only thing that can carry the
flag and it gets destroyed in one shot. There are turrets and small
attack helicopters to stop ya too (and in two player mode the other
persons weapons). Now first you have to find the flag (its hidden in one
of the white buildings) then you have to clear a path with your tanks ,
helicopters, and AC's (armoured cars) destroying turrets, walls, bridges
(these are only worth destroying on the 2 player games), and buildings
(there are gas stations to refuel and medics in addition to regular
buildings when you blow up the some of the buildings little soldiers will
come out and fire at you with grenades and machine guns but have no fear
you can run over em with your tank or AC making a really cool splat and
bloody mess). Now once you find the flag you drive over with your hummer
and take it back without dying. In 2 player mode there is more than one
way to win. 1: take the flag on your enemy 2: destroy your opponents
hardware 3: Take out all of his hummers.

There are many ties in this game though (like
when both opponents have no hummers). In the one player mode
all you have to do is get the flag The computer has no hardware. Now this
game does have a few flaws The one player mode can get really repetative
and in the two player mode patience is required (especially when playing
an evil bastard like me who blows up bridges and forces you to
helicopters unless there is a safe way to cross to water with the land
vehicles) only a hummer can cross deep water in hovercraft mode which is
a bit slower then land mode). The tank has a cannon land/air, The AC has
rockets land/air and land mines, the helicopter has a chain gun and
rocket launchers land/air, and the hummer has grenades land (you dont
wanna use the hummer to fight though).

All and all a a game in this area hasnt made me this happy since
herzog zwei. If ya like strats this is a must own for the psx
(plus its nice to hear some good classical music in a game for once).
Stay cool all!
