StarBlade
Review from the Net

PSX StarBlade Mini-review:

Good Points:

	1)	It's got 2 modes : One is I believe, the original arcade
mode. i.e. graphics are mainly polygon type and the playing screen is
slightly smaller (there are little black bars on the left and right edge
of the screen). The other mode is a beautifully textured polygon mode,
with full screen display. The difference in graphics is really apparent
between this 2 modes. I can't seem to see any difference in frame rate
between this two modes.

	2)	Base effects are good. When you get to the space scene
where you shoot the cannons on the othership, your subwoofer will really
rock! Nice effect...

Bad Points:

	1)	Original arcade mode is easy. I finished the game after
my third play! The textured polygon mode is harder...

	2)	Laser x-hairs don't seem to move smoothly when pressing
on the joypad, making precise positioning a pain. (Haven't tried the
neGcon pad...)

	3)	Framerate is not as high as Ridge Racer(IMHO). You can
detect a bit of jerkiness. Nevertheless, it's still very good.

	4)	No save game feature.

	5)	Nothing fancy about this conversion that I can tell.
No cool intros or outros. No "bonus game" while loading up. No "extra"
levels that I can tell.

Well, altough I have listed more bad than good points, I still
like the game, as I'm a great fan of the arcade's and like this kind of
game. The 3D action and effect is great. The textured mode is
awesome. Replay value however, is poor. I haven't seen the 3DO version,
so I can't make a comparison, but I'm satisfied with my purchase...

One last point. I think the PSX is really a great machine. With
the current batch of games(RR, Tekken, etc...), I think it augurs well for
it's future. If anyone is still considering getting one, I'd say:
"Get it!".

-Vince
