Tecmo Super Bowl
PlayStation Review from the Net
TECMO football today hit for the PSX. (I have played 3 full games, 5 minute quarters so far, normal difficulty) Bottom Line: If you are a tecmo fan (you know what I mean), I think you'll enjoy it. Otherwise, you should pass. Graphics: Nothing great, just solid figures. The graphics could not be this good on a 16 bit platform, BUT they could have been better.) Again, Tecmo NEVER has had stellar graphics. You can rotate and play either direction. ( I play standard left/right) Sound: Standard tecmo, but an announcer has been added. He's OK. He show's some inflection sometimes, sometimes says, "That was a bad fumble" etc.... Punting: Standard Tecmo bar , Except the punts are normal, no more 60+ yarders all the time :( Field Goal. -- Changed here. Now they show a vertical screen and a line goes left/right and you have to hit the right direction. I guess the CPU calculates the distance part for you. It's pretty cool Gameplay. -- This is where Tecmo shines IMO. It's the same as the other tecmo's so if you did not like those, you won't like this. It's just fun. It's hard to put a finger on it. It does have instant replay. Passing is same rotate/throw, but it feels a little tougher so far. The cool thing (again) is that players play at their skill level. i.e., if you are playing against emmitt, STOP him. He is FAST. Sameway with Deon returning kickoff's 9Wow, he has some move) Running is cool hit gaps, break tackles, drag a guy for some extra yards, again , based on ability and hits. I'm sure all the stats are there , but I haven't dealved int this yet. Timmer
