Tekken
Review from the Net
All I can say right now is WOW, while my jaw hangs open. I thought Toh Shin
Den looked nice! This is simply incredible! I can't make an informed
comparison to the arcade because I've only played the machine a couple times.
But the PSX version seems exactly like it. Great resolution. And the
characters look incredible and move very fluidly. It is smooth as as a baby's
behind. The only thing I've noticed so far that sucks is that the replays
have slowdown. They play at about half speed.
The controls are very simple. There is only R and L punch, and R and L
kick. These can be set on the face buttons or on the shift buttons. There
is a third setup that I haven't tried yet, but it uses ALL 8 buttons.
Boot up is very quick and......"drumroll, please" you can play a bonus
stage in Galaga while you wait! The intro totally kicks ass. It has nice
motion video of the fighters preparing to battle.
The backgrounds are beautiful, and the camera has no time scrolling and
changing position in space. The music is rearranged, and is great. The music
for the desert stage is especially chilling.
All 8 characters are there, and supposedly there are 9 bosses. These
bosses are supposed to be accessable, but I don't know how to use them yet.
I just played about an hour. I had to set it on easy cause I was getting
my ass kicked. I got to the first boss "Kasimitsu" I think. This green guy
with wierd blades in each hand. He totally kicked my ass.
I don't plan on giving a full review, but if you have any questions, feel
free to email me. And if you have a PlayStation, get this game!
