Ten Pin Alley
PlayStation Review from the Net

I just wanted to applaud the developers of Ten Pin Alley.

First, some credentials. I've bowled for 15-20 years (I turn 25 next
week) and currently average 195 on 2 different leagues. My highest
game to date is a 300 with my highest series a 753. I have played
LITERALLY every bowling game for the home consoles (and computers)
starting off with Tenth Frame from Access software to the
above-average PBA Bowling from Bethesda and let me just describe Ten
PIn Alley in one word :

Incredible!

The pin physics are mind boggling. I have thrown shots that were a
little light into the pocket and left the solid 10 pin (just like in
real bowling) and I've also buried the pocket and left a solid 8-10
split. (just like real bowling)

What I like about Ten Pin Alley as someone else pointed out is that it
is difficult to make the same exact shot twice. With PBA Bowling I
have shot literally 50 or more 300 games but with 150-200 games I've
racked up on Ten Pin Alley my high score is only a 257.

Granted it is a little difficult at first and until I found my shot I
was getting a little frustrated (just like real bowling) My first
50-75 games I average 135-140 but I enjoyed every minute of playing
it. Now my average is up to a 175 with 36% strikes and 45% spares.

The only thing I really dont like about Ten Pin Alley is being a lefty
myself (and male) is the two (!) left handed bowlers in the game are
clearly geeks. I have since stuck to a righty (and I am doing fine
with him).

I hope this game is a big success. I know some people on
alt.sport.bowling have bitched that it wasnt a "serious" simulation.
Well I hate to break it to all you fellow bowlers, but bowling is a
fun game. It can be enjoyed literally by people of all ages. There is
nothing wrong with a little humor in a game as long as it doesnt
detract from the gameplay.

Adrenalin, if you are reading this here are some ideas for a sequel.

More alleys variations
More lefties (non-geeks this time)
The ability to bowl a 3 game match (like league bowling) with only one
or two players
Also, since you have the license from the Bowling Hall of Fame (loved
the piece in Ten Pin Alley about it) how about getting the PBA license
as well? I would love to bowl against a Walter Ray Williams Jr, Bob
Learn Jr, Pete Weber, or others.

Please keep up the good work and thanks for Ten Pin Alley, its an
incredible game.
