Time Crisis
Review from the Net

Time Crisis for the Sony Playstation:

Graphics:

The graphics in Time Crisis are pretty good but not earth-shattering. The
graphics are polygonal figures which, when hit, will react well. For example,
if you shoot one the guys in the knee-cap, they will clutch their knee and
then recover. The environments' graphics are also done pretty well. There
are cars, helicopters, glass that shatters, and more. Everything is well
animated. But I do have a few complaints: the graphics are very blocky. This
can hurt the game at times. Also, there are occasional clipping problems.
Because of these problems, the graphics in Time Crisis are average.

Sound:

The music in Time Crisis, just like the graphics, is average. It accompanies
the game nicely, though. There are various tunes that go along with the game,
but won't pump you up like other games will. When you're playing the game,
you don't really notice the music but the sound effects are very much
evidident. The sound effects are very nice. It has a different sound effect
for many things. For example, if you just listen to the game, you can tell
the different guns or tell when a car is on the screen. Also, other effects
are glass shattering and helicopters. Overall, while the music may be lacking
at times, the sound effects make up for it.

Gameplay:

The gameplay is where Time Crisis really shines. There is just a great
feeling of pretending you're in a movie and blasting the hell out of some
unfortunote enemy.  One of the great innovations in light gun history is here;
you can duck while you reload. This enables you to get your timing down or
avoid enemy fire. To duck, you can either press a button on the
guncon(included, by the way) or stomp on a controller. But I do have a few
drawbacks about the gameplay. First, you can't get power-ups. In other
games, it made going out of your way to get things that much more worth it.
Also, the game is just too short. The orginal arcade game mode is here which
is too short to justify a purchase. But Namco loves us. In addition to the
arcade mode, they threw in a special mode exclusive for the home version.
This can take a long time to complete. Even though Time Crisis has these
flaws, it is truely fun. Just think, you can take out your anger, gun in
hand, without really hurting anyone. I could go on and on about how this game
is a satisyfying experience, but I'll just tell you that it's the best light
gun game currently on the Playstation.

OVERALL:

Time Crisis is a great game any light-gun fan should get. I would recommend
it to anyone looking to buy a great game. While the music and graphics may
just be medicore, the game is pure fun. Lastly, if you're looking for a great
game that won't stop any crowds because of the special effects, get Time
Crisis. I can't reccomend any light-gun game an higher.
