Theme Park
Review from the Net
I bought Theme Park on Friday night, and it's pretty cool. This is definitely a SimCity type simulation game, where you obviously build and maintain a theme park. This game has also been available on the PC and the Mac for at least 1-2 years. The port from the PC/Mac was done really well, with the exception of 2 minor complaints. Control is organized logically, and seems more intuitive than using the Mouse on the PC/Mac. One of my complaints however, is the text. This game was done in 640x480 on the PlayStation, which means that the graphics are interlaced. This is combined with a relatively small type size, makes most of the text hard to read. The timing of the music was also rather annoying. Music does not start right away when you are viewing the park, but at the same time stops abrubptly when going to an options screen. For me, this meant that the background music was constantly starting and stopping. There may be a way to turn off the music, but I have not had time to check yet. Overall, if you like simulation games, this one is a winner. Probably a 7 out of 10 in my opinion. The SVideo cable would DEFINITELY help this game greatly. (assuming it ever ships) With NTSC, I had to use the 31" TV at work to be comfortable playing the game. But then again, I have really bad eyesight. Finally, it is a bit on the pricey side though, running around $60.00 a the local stores in my area. DB. ================================================================= David R.
