Worms
PlayStation Review from the Net

Graphics: Well, this game is not about eye candy. There is some nice
parallax in the scrolling backgrouds, the terrains are original and
nicely drawn, and the explosions are nice. The worms are a bit small,
but i am playing on a Commodore 1084S, so it's a smaller screen.
Nothing exciting here, but the graphics do their job. (7/10)

Sound: Pretty well done for what was called for. The worms have funny
sayings, although it's tough to make out what they're saying at times,
unless you listen real closely (and sometimes it's hard to hear when
your friends are cursing you after you eliminated their team). The
best, IMHO, is the "Fire Punch" sound, when the worm does a Street
Fighter II Dragon Punch and yells "Shoryuken" as the other worm flies
off. (8/10)

Gameplay: The game is simple to learn, yet addictive. The controls
are intuitive, and each weapon is easy to learn how to use. Adjusting
your shot to take advantage of the wind is tough to do at the
beginning, but you get the hang of it. And for those who cannot get
the hang of it, there are many weapons which are unaffected by the
wind. Up to 16 people can play on one controller, although both
controllers are active so the controller passing can be kept to a
minimum. A great party game. (9/10)

Options: Almost EVERY part of this game can be toggled or changed in
some way. The weapons can be made infinitly usable, limited, or
unusable. The landscapes can be randomly generated, or you can insert
your own combination of letters and numbers and it will create a
landscape based on that. The names of the teams and the members of
the teams can be changed at any time. The amount of "hit points" each
worm on a team has can be changed. The skill level of the CPU teams
can be changed. If a team is Human or CPU controlled can be toggled.
The time limit on moves and the rounds can be changed. The number of
rounds needed to win a match can be changed. In other words, there
are a LOT of combinations. All of these changes can be saved to
memory card, and will automatically load in if the card is in the slot
when the game initially boots. Worms also compiles a league table and
also has a Top Ten Worms listing on the best worms in the league so
far. There is also an option for playing a friendly match that won't
count in the league standings. (10/10)

Other points of interest: The FMV is VERY well done in this game, and
rather hilarious. If you want to skip it (short movies played before
each match), it can be toggled off at the options screen or skipped by
hitting X on the controller. The manual, on the other hand, could
have been done a LOT better. It's a good idea to play the game, and
then read the manual to find out what you can't pick up on your own.
(5/5 for FMV and 2/5 for the manual = 7/10)

Overall: This is a very addicting and enjoyable game, both as a 1
player and even more so with 2 or more players. If you're not sure
about whether or not to get this game, rent it with some friends and
spend the night playing it. You'll be hooked by the end of the night.
(Overall score = 41/50)
