On my way out the door, I popped in the CD, loaded the game and changed to Arcade mode just to give it a quick spin. My son stepped to the plate and we had a blast! Very nice graphics, good sound effects and a nice atmosphere. (Except for the now standard flat stands..) I'm not really into baseball games, but this title is fun! (And I've just scratched the surface. You've got a ton of options!)
When playing against the CPU, AI seems to be a bit on the tough side, even on the Rookie level. First bug/feature: If the opposing pitcher hits you batter in his back, usually you'll get booing from the stands. Once, so far, it instead sounded like a choir of the coffee maker aliens in MIB!
