You're heading back to the 70's in the Southwest. Pick one of the eight cars, all with special weapons. How about a schoolbus that belches toxic smoke, or a camper eqipped with killer bees? Battle it out in eight arenas, huge and fast... Pick one of the eight wacky characters, including a hustler from Vegas and a hippie. Blow up everything in sight, see the cars disintegrate as you play. Play one-player against a rival gang, or two-player head-to-head. Hidden stuff all over, of course.
Although the similarities to Twisted Metal 2 are pretty obvious, there are enough differences to make a great game. Different strategies are needed, the old TM tricks won't get you far.
