Webmaster's Corner

February 2nd, 2001

Yikes, has really over a year passed since my last update? I guess I finally have to concede to the fact that I just don't have the time to update these pages anymore. Sad, but true. But lets cut to the chase.I of course got the PlayStation 2 at launch in Norway on October 26th last year, 4.499,- NOK, or just over $500. Ouch! Only two games have entered my house, Tekken Tag and SSX.

Which, I must say (3 months later) is rather disturbing. Quality games are few and far between. There are good games out there, of course, but in between my DVD purchases, it must be really good to catch my attiontion. Games I can't wait for: Metal Gear Solid 2, Gran Turismo 2, Star Wars: Obi-Wan, Klonoa 2, Final Fantasy X, Dark Cloud, Crash Bandicoot 5, Twisted Metal Black and of course WipeOut Fusion

How about Sega? We've waited for this for years, and finally it is coming true. Sega is dropping the Dreamcast and releasing games for PlayStation and PlayStation 2. Virtua Fighter 4 on the PS2? Wow, can't wait. Crazy Taxi, too! If only they would announce Sonic PS2 Edition. My world would be complete!

As mentioned, much of my game playing time is now spent in mye Home Theatre watching DVD's instead. There's always another disc or some more hardware needed, so buying games is no longer on top of the list...

But Tekken Tag is great. It's a good improvement over Tekken 3, although not a revolution. (Except for the annoyng "sheering" ground/floor. Tekken 4, where art though.

SSX, on the other hand, is dang close to perfect. I can't believe how good the game is. Hats off to the developers. (Knowing how good SSX is, it really makes me look forward to WipeOut Fusion even more.) Great tracks, tons and tons of "stuff" in each level, you can race everywhere, incredible sound. OK, so it doesn't register X sometimes.. No biggie. I was  exited for SSX2, but SSX:DVD I don't know about. Same tracks, slightly tweaked, better resoluion, FMV...? For the same price? Ehh.... What's up with that?

For my "old" vision of WipeOut Fusion, click here. For more current info, goto ps2.ign.com.

That's it for now......
